The Coffs Coast Local Food Alliance was delighted to host the inaugural Coffs Coast Local Food Film Festival over three weeks from 3 June to 20 June 2010.

Audiences in Sawtell, Bowraville and Bellingen experienced a diverse array of highly-acclaimed national and international films.

Born in Bellingen and raised by dedicated volunteers, the Local Food Film Festival spread its wings in 2010 with the assistance of the Coffs Coast Local Food Alliance and the Local Food Networks of the Bellinger and Nambucca Valley.

We Need You for our 2011 festival:

Calling all film and local food enthusiasts to join us. We need volunteers to help out with the preparation and planning for this years festival, to be held in October.

There are a few of us who planned last June's festival who are planning 2011 film festival. We are in the early stages, still choosing dates (wont be June, probably spring), looking at film choices and venues. Will happen again in BOwraville and Bellingen and somewhere around Coffs. Right now we are trying to put together a local short film competition so we can publicize in time.

We held the first Coffs Coast Local Food Film Festival in June 2010 (building on Bellingen Local Food Film Festivals in 2008 & 2009 - local food film festivals & similar festivals are also being held in Adelaide and Cairns, amongst other places) and we are looking at dates & films for 2011. A big priority is to create some local content, i.e. a short film or films that highlight the many things that are going on in our area. We're also looking for sponsors so we can really publicise the festival in 2011 (we're thinking October 2011) - that was one area where we can improve on the first go. If you've got suggestions for films or anything else, let us know!
